PRELIMINARY BUDGET
HEARING
TO RESIDENTS AND TAXPAYERS IN THE
TOWN OF FINE
ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a series of public hearings will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Municipal Office Building in Star Lake. The Preliminary Budget Hearing for the fiscal year 2027 will be held immediately following the Public Hearings. The purpose of the hearing is for the fire protection contract with Star Lake. The town is considering entering into a one-year fire protection contract with the Star Lake Fire District in the amount of $38,395.00.
A Preliminary Budget has been completed and is on file in the office of the Town Clerk in Star Lake, where it is available for inspection by any interested person during regular business hours.
Pursuant to Section 113 of Town Law, the proposed salaries of the following town officials are hereby specified:
Supervisor $ 18,000.00
Council (4) $ 12,000.00 ($3,000.00 each)
Justice (1) $ 13,000.00
Town Clerk $ 37,284.00
Highway Supt. $ 67,600.00
At such hearings, any person may be heard in favor of or against any of the topics covered by the hearings, or the Preliminary Budget as compiled, or for or against any items contained therein. The regular town board meeting will be held immediately following the hearings.

Legal Notice of Public Hearing on the Budget of Star Lake Fire District
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget of the Star Lake Fire District of the Town(s) of Fine and Clifton, State of New York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Star Lake Fire District, for its consideration.
A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Star Lake Fire Hall, 4187 State Highway 3, Star Lake, New York, 13690, in the Town of Fine, State of New York on October 20th, 2026.
Pursuant to Town Law §181.3(a), the Board of Fire Commissioners must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to allow maximum public participation in the hearing.
The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons interested in the subject concerning same.
That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Fine at 4078, State Highway 3, Star Lake, New York, 13690 and Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Clifton at 7171 State Highway 3, Cranberry Lake, New York, 12927 where it may be inspected by any interested person.
